What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a medical device that replaces a screw-shaped tooth root made of titanium. It is placed inside the jaw bone to replace with extracted tooth root. At the end of the recovery process after mechanical grip acts as a natural dental implant placed.These new teeth look like  your natural tooth and gives the impression of natural teeth.

If you have lost your teeth due to injury, caries or breakage and  you do not have severe systemic diseases (diabetes, osteoporous, blood diseases, etc.) probably implant treatment suitable for you.However, you must have sufficient bone in the jaw areas to be implanted.Your doctor will decide after clinical and radiological examinations whether the implant is the appropriate treatment option for you.

Various types of anesthesia can be applied depending on your preference. The first of these is local anesthesia, numbing the area. The second is sedation, partly conscious. Third, it is general anesthesia, your consciousness is temporarily lost completely and you will not remember the operation.

If you prefer sedation or general anesthesia, you should not eat or drink for at least 6 hours prior to administration. If you have eaten or drunk anything, your operation will be canceled. In the procedures to be performed under local anesthesia, you should have a full stomach.

After sedation and general anesthesia, an adult will be asked to accompany you. However, it is not forbiddento drive after local anesthesia.
